A Brave Goodbye – To New Adventures

Dear lovely, supportive, and loyal Red Heroes,

I am nearly in tears whilst saying this, but it must be done. I have had a foreboding feeling for awhile now, one that I have been able to suppress, but I can no longer push it down. Red Hero Inspiration has been such an ambitious, integrated part of my life for the past 3 and a half years, which is what makes it so hard to do this, but I must.

I am officially retiring The Red Hero Inspiration. I feel that I have lost the original direction for this blog, as I have grown from the girl I was when I started this to the young woman I am now. I am nearly an entirely different person. I have shed new skin, and, unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to have been able to mold Red Hero along with my growth.

This, however, does not mean that it is the end. I will continue to upkeep A Whimsical Ghost, as I am never far from writing a poem. Nor does it assume that I will never again start a blog. It only means that, in this time of my life, I am not at a current place where I feel a blog is wanted as a part of my life. Red Hero Inspiration was an outlet for me that was not granted to me at that time of my life, but, luckily, I have found an outlet that is permanent.

This also does not mean that my It list will be set aside on a shelf, but quite the contrary. As of right now, my It list is evolving and shedding a new skin, too. As I had started Red Hero Inspiration with my It list, I feel it is only right to end it with such.

As you all know, I published my poetry late last year on CreateSpace. More people than I expected have purchased it, and I can assure you that it is a great blessing. I love and thank you all for the great amount of support.

Secondly, there is a wall in downtown Portland right by PSU that I absolutely adore. It’s a giant wall of BOOKS. I want to read each and every book listed on that wall. I think there are maybe 50, but Chris and I will go down there soon and write them all down. We’re going to read them together.

I love you all.

Writing a poem in another language
Being a part of the Holi Festival

I think it would be beautiful to write a poem in another language. I’m fascinated with the Hindi language; there’s just something so perpetually graceful and beautiful about it. Maybe I’ll be fluent enough to write a whole novel of poetry in another language someday. (:

I apologize for the nearly wordless, random post about India yesterday. If you didn’t already look it up or figure it out, the Hindi words were the title.
For some reason, especially as of late, I’ve had a passion for India. I want to visit there. I want to stay there for a few months. I think that will be my initial first travel goal: India. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it either a couple months before or directly before the Holi Festival of Colors. I want to partake in that celebration. Did I add that to my It list already? I’m not sure I did. I’ll add it right now.

Au revoir,

Gigi

I love this site. I love it’s beautiful, brutal honesty. I want to be brutally honest and just let something out. I won’t ever let you know what it is, but I will send it in someday. Someday soon . . .

My great grandmother and great grandfather were married for 59 years. In 2008, my great grandmother passed away. Three weeks later my great grandfather followed.
I’ve never been to either of their graves. They were extraordinary people, and thought I only knew them for a short time, they greatly impacted my life.

I want to read all of the original Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew because 1, I grew up adoring Nancy Drew; 2, I’ve read maybe one or two of the Hardy Boys; and 3, I just love rereading childhood memories.

Okay, I know it sounds kind of whacky, but bear with me: Imagine 50 photos, 50 lines, 25 pages; each page has one photo and one line. It’ll be my greatest challenge yet, but I do believe it would be so beautiful. Now to just start it. I’m not sure if I ever want to have it published, or feature people, or have it just to myself, or focus on objects.. but I’ll find out as I progress with it. (:

Au revoir,

Gigi

My reasoning? Because it sounds romantic, being able to read a book in another language, and Jackie-O had very interesting taste when it came to books she edited.

I had a light bulb moment today. My boyfriend and I were watching “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and I thought, “Aha!” Why didn’t I think of it before? I should go to Tiffany’s in New York and eat breakfast! I think it’d be darling. And fun. And awesome. And wondrous. (:

Participating in Relay for Life

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I lost a very dear friend – and a hero, someone I still look up to – to cancer back in 2008. She meant the WORLD to me, and I was heartbroken when she was taken from us. I know God has a reason for everything, but I still am deeply affected by her loss in my life. She was the most wonderful woman you could ever meet; strong, kind, gentle, loving, fierce, and just so sweet. She is the one who inspired me to carry that quote around with me all the time. So, this next year, I want to participate in the Relay for Life – just for her! Relay for Life is an event organized through the American Cancer Society and is held all over the United States! I’ve been wanting to participate in this wonderful event since 2007, and I think it’s time that I did. Just for her. (: I love you, Carrie ❤
